Last night I think I broke an axle.
Only had the car back two days ( sad panda for sure ) was datalogging a drive and something broke. Long story short, was driving down an onramp with no traffic, full boost through third, shifted into fourth momentarily and let off to slow down and check map, then the car started to shake.
Slowed way down and got off the next exit thinking i blew a charge pipe or broke something but I didn't see anything obvious. Thought it was snail related but car still hits boost decently (not really wanting to get it to freeway speeds and hit full boost to verify) but at speeds > 30mph I can feel the front end shake in the steering wheel and shifter both in and out of gear.
Low speeds I can feel a "click" in the shifter while turning, and in looking ( no real tools handy ) I see some boot grease on the lca and inside the rim ( passenger side front ). New axle is already ordered, I am just wondering ideas of what else it might / could have been.
Specs if that helps are peakboosted gsr, 410whp / 300 torque. I know the torque is just on the line of where stock axles start breakage, but never heard of it on a 3 / 4 shift. Only other thing I can think of is that I might have hit a bump/pothole that caused it and grabbing fourth didnt help.
Ideas?

Probably a C/V joint issue, with a broken axle your not going anywhere.
Replace your axles with Raxles axles... http://www.raxles.com/ You will be glad you did. 94

Yep, turned out to be a bound axle. Must have skipped and locked in place. Changed it with an EMPI axle woke right up. Now unfortunately I bent the hell out of my aem wideband o2 sensor (wheel hop ftl, shoved the sensor against the front sway), and since they take a special connector I get to stare at the laptop screen to figure out my afrs.
Thanks for verifying fcm :D
