How do you calibrate your tach...the right way?
I'm in the processing of making custom gauge faces...and it seems that alot of honda tachs are off even without messing with the needles...
What's the best way to calibrate your tach? Preferably something digital? I don't want a "rev up till you're as loud as your friend with a d16 and slap the needle on" kind of thing.
Civic 00 EX d16y8...OBDIIb still.
Any suggestions? Dealership? Cheaper than dealership options?

You don't, really.
FWIW, I'm on my 7th Honda and every one of the tachs has been spot-on. I drive several different Hondas per day and haven't really seen a tach that was off significantly enough to pose a problem.

ah. if it were me i'd just put the needle back in as close to where it sits when the car is off as possible. run it and see if it's actually any different
Ok thanks for the tips guys...I'll return with an answer shortly after the 1st when I get done with the gauges...
