do i have to get a subframe brace in order to put on a sway bar? my car did not come factory with any sway bars. the bolt holes are on the rear subframe but i dont know if the subframe brace is needed or not. any input is appreciated, thanks.

 

No you just need the brackets that go there... Most aftermarket sway bars will come with them... I know my Blox sway bar did...

 

my friend told me just now that putting an itr sway bar on my car without a subframe brace would tear my rear end apart. is this true? the itr sway bar comes with the end links and D brackets also.

 

Depending on the size of the sway bar u should get a brace. If its just a stock 13/14mm up to 19 you should be fine without it.

 

A sub frame brace is needed if running larger aftermarket bars. I would say if going larger than 19mm, just so insure you don't tear out your oem mounting points

 

Yea, it most likely will if you're not careful. im running a ITR sway with an ASR brace.

The ITR bar is 22mm to 23mm. You need a subframe brace if you're going with sticky tires and if you're going to be actually doing something with the car (road courses, autox, etc.).

At the very least, I would do a beaks kit. I have that on my EM1 and it's been working just fine with autocross and track events. Although, I might go with an ASR brace now that I have tires on it.

You do need something to brace the subframe with an ITR bar. You will also need Integra LCAs with the sway bar holes in them.

 

The ASR brace isn't much more than the Beaks kit, and it actually spreads the load. There have been cases of tear out with the Beaks kit, and to my knowledge, there hasn't with the ASR brace.

The generation of your car also matters. 92-95 you don't need a brace as bad as you do with a 96-00, since these later cars have thinner metal for the subframe. It's still a good idea.

I have Blox LCA's they have the hole for the sway bar end links

 

No proof on hand, but read around. There have been far more cases with EKs and few with EGs.

but, don't believe everything you read, lot's of people also thing that rear disk conversions on Honda's perform better than drum setup's, nit the case There are many examples of people that just follow the crowd with idea's not really knowing the fatcs
