Default painting my Dr20s

ok so i have a set of black Dr20s that i absolutely hate because they are black...i want to go white on them and leave the lip alone.. i was wondering what would be the best way of doing that? should i sand down, primer and apply paint or stip them, primer and apply paint?

i would just sand them a little. no need to strip if you are just going to paint them. more work for nothing. good luck.
