Icon2 Where to trigger rear defrost in 06 accord w/remote start

I am installing a remote start on my 2006 accord XL, and would like to know where's a good location to tie into the trigger line of the rear defrost without tearing apart the dash to get at the dash switch.

Anyone have access to directechs that wouldn't mind posting some info about remote start install on my model year?

Thanks!

Taking the dash apart shouldn't be too bad. Get to the back of the switch on it's bezel and use a multimeter to test for the wire that goes hot or cold when the defogger is activated. Most likely it will be a 12V+ activation meaning that the wire will go "hot" to
12V+ when the defogger goes on.

Try to make sure that the wire you're tagging into is the actual wire you need or you might send 12 volts INTO the switch and burn it out. Use a relay for activation and fuse it's feed.

Also, try to use A TIMED output off of the remote starter instead of just a regular output so the output will shut off after a predetermined amount of time. No sense in trying to defrost wondows that have already been defrosted for 10 minutes.

You could always just use the heater and put it on full blast so the windows will defog that way too.

If you REALLY NEED to have the defogger hooked up...Try this...It doesn't state the actual wire for the defogger but I hope it helps.
