Icon2 97 Ek with B16 swap - Engine does this rev thing at low rpm

I have a 97 Ek and it has a b16a1 swap in it. When you are in low rpm's and barely giving it gas it kind of does this rev thing like you're revving it a little at a time and really fast kind of like a voom, voom, voom, etc. sound.... but within a second of each other. So yeah... i don't know if you guys know what's going on or if you even understand haha but that's my problem. Any help would be great thanks.

Does the engine also have a fluctuating idle problem?

what ecu are you running, ?

i agree do you have normal idle, b16a are the worst for idle?

does it do it when hot or cold?

are you getting any missfiring?

could be anything from timing, ecu , iac to a bad plug or wire, coil, ect gremlins

I haven't noticed any misfiring and it idles perfectly at 1k. No fluctuation at all. It does it when cold or warm it doesn't matter. It's only when you barely give it gas. If you kind of step on it and rev it up it's totally fine but if you were in a parking lot and barely on the as it'd do it. I'm not exactly sure which ecu i'm running either. This was an acquired car because it was cheap and I wanted to get an Ek so i just picked this one up, expecting little to no problem because it was supposed to be a professionally done swap at a shop. It drives fine I just want to see if i can get rid of that little problem.

How old are the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter?

Is the ignition timing set to spec?

I'm not sure how old they are. I need to check those things but my car is locked with the key inside so as soon as i get in i can look at those things. I think the plugs might need to be changed.

I checked the stuff out and everything is almost new. The swap is relatively new. Past the break in and all that but it's still pretty new. I'm going to check what ecu I'm running tomorrow when i have some help since i can't see it myself lol It drives totally fine and nothing is wrong while driving or anything like that. It's only that time in first gear when you're barely giving it gas. Any other gear and it doesn't do it. So yeah, that's where I'm at now.

It could be your TPS sensor

first off, do you have a cel? if not clean your iacv, its almost always fixes this problem

If you want a quick fix just turn the idle down with the little screw on the throttle body down a little, this wont solve the problem completely but the up and down idle will happen less often

i had an issue like that in a eg i had a while back with similar setup and mine turned out to be a bad o2 sensor... cheap and easy to fix i would start there... if it is in fact a bad o2 you might as well go ahead and upgrade to wideband!

I don't have a CEL on so I'll try the cleaning and maybe adjust the TPS. I don't know if I can replace the O2 right away because I'm tight on cash :/

I don't think there are any. I haven't done a test or anything but all the hoses are like new. Oh and I don't know if it's relevant but it's the JDM B16A i said it was a B16A1 so that was my bad.
