my car was in the shop because of a bad throw out bearing in the clutch... and team honda had to remove the whole transmission to get to it.. well anyway i picked it up yesterday morning(which was saturday).. it drove fine... i cleaned it and drove it to denham to pick up a friend and i was on a back road in 5th gear and it poped out of 5th gear..then i was like well maybe i didnt do somehthing right so i put it back in 5th and it kept popping out of 5th ..(thats the only gear it popes put of).. then it stared making this weird whining noise.. the whole engine didnt sound right..and i noticked when i shifted down it made a weird rattling noise.. long story short i headed back from denham to my house in br which is a 20 minute drive .. i hope i didnt mess anything alse up and i called team honda around 6:10pm ( the service department was already closed) but i asked for a manger asap any manger was fine with me i was soo mad ...i told him what was up and he told me to send it back to sevice first thing monday morning... my only guess is they ****** somthing up putting the transmission back in.. any ideas on whats wrong with it..?!?! im stressed and i really wanna make it to a car meet this saturday i hope it dosent take to long to fix it up again.. . god it pissed me off to know delear ship cant do something right ... also i have flash pro but i know thats not the problem.. ive been having flash pro for a year now.. im bringing my car back in monday morning.. i know they are gonna fix it for free because they didnt do something right but do you guys think flash pro would be a concern like the warrant might be voided or something..and any idead on what tehy did wrong putting the transmission back in.. your replys would be very helpfull.. im really upsett with team honda right now and im dieing to know on what they did wrong?!!?!!!

Sounds an awful lot like they forgot to put fluid in the transmission when they put everything back together. Gears, bearings and diff are probably toast.

Sounds like fluid was not at the correct level, or it leaked out during your drive. Pretty common for shifting issues in the higher gears and whining when the fluid is low/non-existent.

 

not really sure how it works but i would take that flash pro off. they will look for anything to void your warrenty even if it is their fault.

 

isnt there some kinda recall for that tranny

Hondata won't void the warranty on the trans. In order to legally void the warranty, they must prove that xxx (Hondata, CD player, Ed Hardy steering wheel cover, etc) caused the problem that the car is at the dealership for.

 

Theres a TSB for the 3rd gear grind issue, but its not a recall. In any case some tech screwed up and forgot to fill the tranny (it happens sometimes, tech is on flat rate trying to make some money and the service advisor is on him for not going fast enough, etc) but the dealership should come good for it, they screwed up and they should make it right.
