need help clutch pedal goes all the wy to the floor after clutch job
well i thought i had almost finished doing the clutch i bolted up the tranny got everything put togheter except the exhaust man, axels, starter .I went inside to step on the clutch pedal and it goes all the way to the floor .Did i do something wrong?
Make sure your slave cylinder is on the trans or it will pop out and possibly damage the slave cylinder. Or make your your line is reconnected and then you have to bleed it.
Basically like brakes, once everything is mounts right have a person in the driver seat and push the clutch pedal 10 times. Release the bleeder valve and and allow for air to come out as the driver holds the clutch pedal down. Quickly close the valve and start pumping again. Everytime you release the valve the clutch will be stuck to the ground so its normal. Bleed it consistanly until there is no more air pockets in the stream of brake fluid. Always make sure you have brake fluid.
okay thanks well i dont have an extra person to help me right know so im gonna have to wait for my bro to get here i just wanted to make sure this is normal and i did it correctly that way i cant start putting everything else togheter till help arrives
Uh make sure the slave cylinder is properly put back together. Internally is what i am referring to. You would get a very similar result if it was not properly put back together. Check it first, because if you try to bleed the system and it is not together correctly you can do some damage.
k thanks guys i just bleed the system the clutch feelsgood know only one thing though it squeaks everytime i press the cutch down what could that be?is it normal?
