Needing to replace all key cylinders on '91 Si, got some questions.
I recently traded my DB1 for a '91 Si hatch and another car. The Si will be my new project/daily, finally picking it up later today.
Anyways, I believe the trunk lock key cylinder is garbage, and the passenger door lock key cylinder is missing. I was wondering if someone sold a complete key cylinder kit...ignition, both doors, trunk(do they also have a lock for trunk/gas handles like my DB1 did?)...and how hard it is to replace them, especially the one for the ignition.
Or...is it possible to replace the trunk and passenger key cylinders, and have them work with my existing key?
Any info on this stuff is greatly appreciated.

$240...and that's the complete key cylinder kit for doors, hatch and ignition? Their cost is $240, and I should be able to get a better discount through a local honda...so that's not too terrible. Still a lot of money to be spending on crap like that.

i spent 60 bucks on all key cylinders from ebay. took me about an hour to replace all including the ignition. if you have a Dremel, it would be very helpful in with removing the ignition.
I could just get the door/hatch key cylinders and just have two keys for the car...one to get in, one to start. That would save me some time and money, I'd hate to replace the ignition key cylinder if it's not broken.
you can always take your ignition key, get those replacement cylinders and take them to your local locksmith and they can repin the locks to fit your ignition key.
Oh cool, didn't know that was possible. I wonder if it would be more or less than just buying a whole new cylinder kit for $240ish.

uh........how bout you go to the junkyard. Find a hatch like yours with keys in it(I always see them in there half the time). Take the lock cylinders out shove them in your pocket and call it a day, thats how i got mines
Would there happen to be a how-to on replacing that ignition key cylinder? OR would the Chilton's manual have it? I've never done that before, and would prefer to not screw anything up. The door cylinders and hatch cylinder I'm sure I can manage on my own.
I'm on a first-name basis with the junkyards around here, most of which call me any time they get a car in that they think I would need parts from before anyone else gets to it. I'd rather not screw that up by thieving from them. Appreciate the suggestion, though.

hahahaha, 99% of the people there do that. You're NOT supposed to say that though! The unspoken code of the junkyards!
