ok so i hope i am posting in the right forum. My problem is the kid that own the car before me had a fake sticker and i got pulled over and they ripped it off. ive taken all the tints off the car took care of any broken lenses and any codes that i threw. my only thing left to figue out is the ecu. I have a jdm 98 type r motor ina 2000 ls body. the guy bought a obd2b to obd2a jumper so when u hook it up too the inspection computer it cant connect. So can i just unplug the ecu and the harness and purchase a ls, gsr, or type r ecu? if so which one would be best to get just to pass inspection here in jersey??

Any usdm obd2 ecu you plug in is going to throw a code.

Why? You have a JDM engine which doesn't have a vtec pressure switch or a cfk sensor on the oil pump.
You must add these sensors & wire them up to run a usdm ecu without codes.

 

Even if I plug in Usdm ls ecu??
