Default Figuring out if i have LSD

Picked up a GSR tranny the other day and the guy i baught it from didnt tell me that it might have LSD until we bolted it up. I know you can simply look through the axel holes to tell if i have LSD or not but since the cars already bolted up thats no longer an option.

Somebody told me that i can burn out a few times and if the tire marks are the same for both wheels then it probably has LSD and if they are different then i probably dont. Ill probalbly try this but it just doesnt seem that cut and dry.

Anybody know of any other ways of telling?

haha i suppose...
but if one is better then the other or whatever they won't look the same. good way to burn up tires and rough up an engine though just to find an lsd.

it also might actually be stamped on the tranny.
just raise it...much easier and safer.

However, when I jack up my car, put it in gear, then turn one wheel, the other wheel spins in the opposite direction. So your solution is a myth that doesn't work universally.

mate - you can actually feel if you have lsd - why ? when you go through tight corner with low speed try to accelerate quickly and you will feel like the car it's not understeer but the corner tightens up...
going straight with high acceleration you will see 2 burn marks after front tires...

No, it means your OEM LSD is busted and functioning like an open diff.

My tires spin exactly the same on my LSD and non LSD car...its really not that hard to pop off the axles and then you will know for sure.

really, you could check even taking one axle out. It's not hard to feel if that bar is there or not

I dunno about that. I've definately jacked up B-series honda's with OEM helical LSDs in them and both from wheels turn the same way.

Flashlight, too, if you can get your head in there. Or, camera with flash.
