jdm h22 hesitation problems
i swapped my h22a4 with a jdm h22a with a p13 ecu . and it was running good until the other day. i noticed a lot of hesitation when peaking around 4000 rpms. i just got a new distributor, ngk wires and ive had ngk iridiums on there for awhile . none are fauled and they all have spark so its not missing. can anyone help me please??!!

i bought some Iridiums... turned out to be junk. somehow they fowled out. may have spark but how strong? might wanna try getting some cheap-o- copper ones and try it again..... the simple things always bite you in the ***
Oxygen sensor will not lead to hesitation at WOT; if not working right you may bog/hesitate in low rpm's at something like 0-20% throttle.
I had this same issue recently, i think my issues was injectors, because after running seafoam through the fuel system it cleared out the issue. Though my car still runs incredibly rich.
I agree, You need to run 92+ octane fuel. but I replaced my Dizzy, Knock Sensor, AND cleaned the EGR system, (YES IT HAS ONE, DRRR) and I still have the hesitation.. It's got to be a lean spot with a misfire.
Nothing a good shop with a DSO cant find. My old H22 Accord had a hesitation that turned out to be a faulty coil.
I assumed my engine was running really rich because of smoke and black soot but after getting it on a dyno I found it was running extremely lean (13.7:1 below 4.5k and 14-14.3:1 above 4.8K). Result, good torque figure, crap hp figure, heaps of smoke out back and a black bumper. Wasn't running rich at all, just dangerously lean with my knock sensor working over time and my ignition timing being permanently retarded!
I have found that hesitation means one thing, ignition cut. You need an air fuel ratio to know if its a lean spot. A misfire will trip a CEL, knock is corrected for on the fly.
Quick question, how do you know its running rich? Smoke behind you when you floor it? Black soot on your rear bumper?
