Default What Bin to use to pass smog?

i got a chipped p28 ecu.. running a custom bin for my built b20/vtec motor.. now its running Rich LOL.. flex pipe.. no intentions for smog purposes.. max power output..

I was wondering if anyone has a Bin that i can run.. for my setupp that will pass a sniffer test.. if i put a cat back on.. just run Oem Spec Numbers... enough to pass a Sniffer pipe test?

like a b16a bin with both o2 sensor or just 1..well i got a 96 so both o2 sensors working.. timing and fuel low enough to burn low Numbers..

almost sounds like i need to run a 99-00 b16a2 p2t Ecu.. for my setup

i got a 96 gsr with a bult b20/vtec.. usdm b20b with 92 b16 SIR head.. skunk2 head package.. all stage 1 setup.. je low com 9.3:1 pistons.. meagle rods.. arp bolts.. rywire harness to chipped p28 redzone tuned and chipped.

i got a p2t 00 civic SI ecu laying around.. should i just copy the Bin and burn it on a seperate chip.. or get a ob2a to ob2b conversion harness to run that ecu?..

* trying to pass smog *.. i got a guy that will let me pass visual.. But i need to pass the actual Sniffer test.. * no Dyno run involved *

after thining about it..

I checked my 00 Civic SI ecu p2t.. No Immobilier Chip installed.. Wierd.. Maybe old owner took it out already?.. or did 99-00 civic SI ecu;s.. obd2b didnt come with immobilizers?

U think running a JDM ITR 98 SPEC ecu would be better on my motor than a usdm b16?..

I just need the car to run good enough to Burn/smog good numbers for a sniffer Test..

I have a flex pipe rite now.. should i Put the cat back on.. would having o2 sensors help with smog and does it really matter?..

Should i just burn 2 different chips.. 1 basemap for usdm 99-00 b16a2 and JDM or USDM ITR basemaps?..

96 car = obd2....your ****ed...you can try it with the p2t ecu it does not have an immobilizer...and you will need to put the cat back on. car will not pass with a obd1 ecu chipped or not since the smog machine will hookup to the obd2 port....obd1/chiped ecu will fail

so when they Plug that obd2 scanner machine in.. we need to have a obd2a/b ecu.. in * since i have a obd2a vehicle 96 gsr *.. the machine can tell if i have a obd1chipped or a legit obd2a/b ecu rite?

damn that ****in Machine LOL

u know why it wont work?.. is it because the scanner tool looks for check engine codes?... certain codes.. where it can tell what ecu im using?..

i can get away with the visual inspection for sure.. he sure he wont scann my vehicle with the scanner either.. I just need to Blow good numbers for the sniffer test.. * we dont have dyno smog *

saying that he wont check my codes.. or for a CEL.. he just passes me for visual.. and just runs my vehicle with the sniffer test.. what could i do to pass smog and blow good 96 gsr numbers?..

could i just redo my Basemap and set everything with Low numbers to blow goodnumbers?.. is there a certain method i can use that will let me adjust the flow / air fuel mixture.. so i can blow good numbers?

If you are running rich right now you may want to lean out the mixture so the a/f is higher. I am not from California, but I am pretty sure your HC's need to be below 300 parts per million and your CO's below 3% ? Are you allowed to use a 4 gas analyzer or anything prior to the inspection to see if your car will actually pass?

u mean like a Pre inspection?..

I dont know.. thats what i was thinking..

getting a couple 512 chips.. 1 chip with usdm 97 ITR base map.. JDM 98+ itr base map.. than i got my b20vtec basemap that was tuned rite now.. way 2 rich LOL.. and i got a 00 p2t i can use also..

Im thinking about just going to the smog station and smogging it with my current b20vtec basemap and see where i stand.. with a cat.. No cels though.. hehe.. than go there with different basemaps and ecu's and see where they stand.. and than do some fine tuning with crome or uberdata.. and try getting my a/F ratio down so i can smog.. with a leaner fuel curve.. running whatever basemap is the best..

u think thats my best bet?.. or ride dirty?
