Default 95 civic ex/gsr motor/auto to manual - starter won't crank engine

ok well lets start off by saying this

the car is a 95 civic ex that was auto converted to manual and has a gsr motor and transmition street tuned on crome

ok i went away for a few days and took my auto gear select out of neutral for theift reasons ,... well when i get back i put it back in neutral and the car wont start...not even cranking... i put the key in and get the honda chimes.. but when i turn the key absolutely nothing happens no clicks .. battery is full charged i even took my chip out and put it back in and nothing... but when i go to use my 4 ways its giving off a loud squeal same with the fogs i tried playing wit the ecu the gear selector , and even tried jumping it and nothing... what could it be guys?

try turning the ignition on and supplying power to the starter directly and see what happens

could be ur clutch switch. follow the clutch pedal if u have one and there should be a button on the back push it then try starting it.

it was automatic swapped to manual you HAVE to keep that gear selector in the car in the neutral position for the car to start

Good luck man...is there no other way when doing the manual swap to override that whole gear selector situation?

-----------------

Try wiring the starter directly to the battery. If it won't crank, the starter may be bad.

I did a auto to manual swap on my 94 civic and I have a jumper wire. That way I dont have to put the shifter back in the car. It makes it think that the car is in neutral. I will take a picture tonight and show you how if, you want me to. The car is not with me as i am doing a j swap to it.

Here is the write-up that i followed. The part about the wiring is at the bottom. Hope this helps to get rid of that shifter.

check all your grounds had the same problem with a previous hatch. if all the grounds are connected scuff em up and reattach.

id check your ignition coil. mine went out on me too! if its bad at least its an easy fix! look at the diagram here for values you should look for.
http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=180000

if that tests out good. the problem has GOT to be that auto gear select!! you said it was working fine before you took it out, and when you hooked it back up thats when it stopped cranking. my guess is your problem is there. Id take it completely out, and redo it, checking grounds and voltage supplys, idc if youve checked 50x already....we all miss something stupid sometimes, check for the 51st time lol
