My friend has a 97 jetta vr6, only mod is intake. He wants to get custom piping done. What would be an ideal size for exhaust piping for the jetta, 2.25 or 2.5 inch?

What is he looking for? If he wants all out hp, or is looking to turbo in the future I would think 3in would be the best. I mean it is a 6 cylinder and a 2.8 liter. Otherwise 2.5 if he is staying N/A so he wont lose as much tq. However idk what VW people run so I could be wrong.

 

Its all motor just lookin for a little power with exhaust...turbo in the way way future. Everyone i guess runs 2.25 or 2.5 just tryna figure out what size would suit the motor

 

I'd go with the 2.5" if it were me.
