6 speed hybrid

i was just wondering how honda managed to pair a manual transmission with a hybrid set-up

The same way they paired it with a CVT.

i understand that but where in the construction does the electric part come in if the engine and transmission are connected by a clutch assembly, just asking idk much of hybrids excuse my slowness

Google 'Honda IMA'.

they just sandwich the electric assist between the motor and tranny. how the motor and tranny are coupled or clutched doesn't really matter.

they did it in 2000 with the insight, and in 2003 with the civic hybrid, its not new in fact its a 10 year old design

Series hybrid vs parallel hybrid.

While it may constrain the size of the electric motor, the packaging and cost effectiveness of a series system is hard to beat.
