Default Hesitation Possibly Fixed

Well, I gave in and took my Lude to a shop to be fixed. I am not happy. The receptionist called and said the car is ready.

I asked her to read the invoice to me.

This is what they did:

Changed the plugs (I did this 3 days ago)
Changed the cap & rotor (I did this 6 months ago)
Set the timing (Did this 3 weeks ago)
Replaced the radiator cap (supposedly damaged...it was fairly new, and I have never damaged it!)
And set the fast idle valve (the only thing I have never done and dont really know how to do)

Total Bill: $243.70

Conclusion: Happy if it fixed my problem. Extremely pissed due to simplicity and the fact that I could have done all that **** for $50.

I have no friggin idea. I dont even know where this valve is!

What do you think about that bill though?!

I am not 100% sure that it is fixed, I will pick it up once I get off work in an hour.

Goddang!

"Changed the plugs; Changed the cap & rotor; Set the timing. "

bummer, looks like the honda techs were juss going by the monkey-maintenance handbook.
you should have told the service dude, or the counter person to mark down on the job of the things YOU have maintained and done to the car ( like within 6months) to the ride.
this could have prevented them from changing and charging the stuff onto the bill.

doing a search on http://www.google.ca and type in ' prelude fast idle valve' may show up some results with relevant info.

or take a peek at the next thread: thermo valve etc etc.

Thats the shitty part. I did. I left them a full sheet of things that had been done and when they had been done.

I am very skeptical that these simple procedures made all my problems go away. VERY skeptical!
