Installing alarm myself??????
i was looking into purchasing a viper 550esp alarm system.. i was just wondering how difficult is it to install that alarm or ANY alarm... i love messing with electronic **** and i'm pretty sure i can get it down once i learn how to get started... ne suggestions??? thanks.. dave
just make sure you have all the right tools and have plenty of time. Also if this is your first please make sure you have all the directions in english too
time wise- I would be unable to say, I don't know how you work/ maybe a beer for everytime you pick up a screwdriver...
Good luck and be sure to solder everything, and the alarm is as only as good as the installation!

If you have messed with electronic stuff before and have a chiltons or helms then it shouldnt be that hard. Whatever you do, dont stick wires into the back of the connector of the ecu and try to arm and disarm the alarm trying to get the power locks to work like I did the first time i did it.

ok if you dont plan on hooking up the remote start, why are you buying the 550esp then? get the viper 600 or viper 300 and save some money.. its not lazy to have a remote starter, its a convience, i hate going out to car to get into a hot as place cause the a/c is on or a cold *** car that has to warm in the winter w/ snow all over it.
as to where to start do some research i cant really tell you, do some research and go from there..

Just remember - an alarm is 30% product and 70% installation... better do it right! Don't leave the brain anywhere a thief can find it easily (behind left dash, behind gauge cluster) Be creative.
Good luck.
Good luck.
