i got a da with a bad headgasket from a buddy for cheap and did the gasket today, started up no problem. Well i got kind of excited and decided to rev it up and it wont go passed 3k, its not like a limp mode thing it actually hits 3k and bogs down to almost dieing then fixes itself. it looks crazy on the tech too, it like drops to zero then jumps up to idle kinda irraticly when it does it. Its not throwing any codes and idles pretty decent its open header right now so i can hear tiny misses every now and then at idle. Its been sitting for about a year and was only driven once around the block within the year but didnt have that problem at the time so im wondering what it could be, any ideas help and are appreciated...thanks!

 

double check the timing.... you might be off one tooth.... also distributor, and vacuum leaks..
