Default New owner Q - bumper molding?

You guys will kill me for this.

I'm new to your board, and in the process of buying a nicely maintained 02 Civic Coupe EX.

So my immediate problem is how to maintain a good shape car in the city where people treat their cars like bumper-cars for parking. ALL cars in Chicago have mangled bumpers. So I'm curious if I can find some "nice" (and I use that term loosely) body molding, preferably silver (color of the car I'm buying) to install on the front and rear bumpers to take the damage. Then each year I can replace this molding and still have a presentable car.

What do you think? Can I find something like this? How ugly will it be?

Also, any theft-prevention tips? My last car, a 95 Integra was stolen and set on fire. Sad huh? The jagoffs could have at least parted it out and gave life to another scumbag's car(s).

Hey, keep this in mind when you're buying used parts - you could be helping a thief.

Cheers.

I would do something like this if I was you.

You don't necessarily have to buy the JDM EK honda access bumper moldings because that'd get expensive and I think you'd have to mod them anyway. Just check around ebay and such for something along those lines.
