Default ball joint and rotor contact...wtfrick...

ok. so i have all oem gsr brakes/knuckles.

sum how. especialy when i turn to the right it grinds real bad.

the front control arm that holds the ball joint touchs and grinds the rotor.
i have no idea how this is happening.
i have all stock suspesion jus 2 inch lowering springs and 15" steelies.
i however have a broken weel stud...still how can this happen?

the wheel bearing is fun. it has no play in it. all the bushings are fine. all new bushings in.

in theory with the wheel assembly going up from a bump it would com away from the rotor correct?

any suggestions? i have no idea

i believe its from camber being all the way positive cause the lower ball joint to bend in and hit the rotor. Just my theory.

ok i read the threads. this is very weird.

everything is completey stock except the 2" lowering springs..

and everything has been fine for the past 3 years.. til now...all of a sudden its this way.

balljoints/wheel bearings are new and have no play.
this isnt when im bouncing over bumps. this is jus cruising its rubbing
it started today. and it worsens when i turn right....idk..this sux.

also the wheel "looks" like it is at 0 degree camber. its not tilted in any direction

If it happened all of a sudden do you remember hitting any hard bumps
right before it started?

no, no hard bumps. it was jus all of a sudden down the road.

if you didnt read the link and the other threads...the problem is

that stop tech brakes gave out rotor that were to thick and touched the ball joint
but i have oem rotors.

others say use a 3mm spacer behind the rotor...why. on oem brakes? thats absurd.

sum replaced the ball joint and that helpd a tiny bit cuz it was stiffer.
sum used bump stops. nothing
sum got stiffer springs...kinda helpd.
others got adjustcable UCAs and that helped...but im already at 0* camber

also oem wheels. im guessing the ball joint is junk from hitting bumps. idk.
there still hasnt been a solid solution.

also axle LENGTH...if it was a tadd longer...i bet it would fix the problem. but..how do you get longer then oem axles ? :O

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SO THE CONCLUSION IS...............

i had the knuckle off and in my lap i took the rotor and put it on the knuckle and there is contact when you push the ball joint over...not normal.

so i got the karcepts hubs and new wheel bearings and ball joints..

new ball joints fixed it. it seems as thoug the actual ball and pin in the ball joint came out alittle or was bent.
