Default Gas mileage change after installing Walbro 255lph on D-Series?

Can anyone give me an idea of what the overall gas mileage change will be if I installed a Walbro fuel pump on my '00 Civic D16. I'm just asking for a simple example. Like how often are you pumping gas with the new fuel pump? I'm just looking to start a little built. Next upgrade will be bigger injectors? Any recommendations?

As long as your fuel pressure stays the same, there shouldn't be any change. The injectors control fuel flow into the engine. As long as the pump can flow more, it doesn't have an effect on fuel economy.

unless you're going turbo or CrAzY n/a build, 255lph walbro is unneccesary

^this and it wont pump more fuel unless you have bigger injectors.

Would the bigger injectors provide a good hp difference? I' m really looking to push out more horsepower. Ignition system is next.

You need more air before you can inject more fuel. If you just inject more fuel without more air, the car will just run rich, make less power, make more harmful emissions, get worse fuel economy, and be more likely to clog your cat.

The ignition systems on Hondas is fine as it is in most cases.

Thanks on the replies. Just looking for more power without the swaps. How much is iron-sleeving for turbo setups?

I know that going turbo is ideally the way to start. As much as I want to, the $ is all there yet, so looking for the alternatives to get me on the right track. I've installed a larger exhaust for the increase flow, plus headers. Short ram is also there. I guess the real is: What should be next?

I really think you need to stop buying and start reading. At this point, research will get you more horsepower than a shopping cart of random parts.

If you want to build a D series for boost (done right) it not going to be cheap.

Making any decent numbers is going to cost you not matter if you are going turbo, swap NA, whatever. HP is never cheap.

its true OP. Research, think of what you want, plan it and build it. If you just throw a bunch of parts to the car, chances are you wasted your time and your money. A good start for a turbo-d build would be to buy a d series bottom end from a junkyard, they're very cheap and are a dime a dozen. Build it for boost on the side while you daily drive your car and save up parts for a turbo build. Decide on what you want first and what you can afford, then work towards that goal. You'll save yourself a headache
