Default 98 si coupe - First engine build; getting help from honda tech member

Hey Everyone,

just recently picked of a 98 si coupe with a really good body; undercoated from honda

the sohc engine it in needs head work which i'm having another honda tech member firx for me ... (broken valve in head)

I'm looking for another motor to replace it to give it more torque

I'm gona set the budjet at about 1200$

I'm looking for a nice torque motor ... however i want it to be track worthy ...

i'm concerned with weight also; i'd like to keep the car light as possible ... and have an excellent power to weigh ratio..

i'm leaning on a b16 as per i know there solid motors ... or a ls build for reliability mainly as per i've learned they have bearing problem when reving the **** out of them..

b18 is great choice to ...

i guess... lets say best bang for buck ... what do you recommend?

thanks

if you looking for torque, stay away from b16s. I think if i was you, id look into a b18 / b20, and if wanted mount a vtec head on
