wondering if typr r piston rings will work on gsr pistons?

ok i just bought a gsr block bored and honed for itr pistons and the dude included a set of gsr pistons and rods and a set of brand new type r pistons on ls rods. The ls rods wont work with itr pistons the wrist pins are different sizes and there is to much friction(pistons wont move on the rods) i obviosly want to use the itr pistons because the block is bored and honed for them and there brand new but i heard that u would need type r crank and rods for the setup to work. or have custom work done wich my budget does not permit at this time.

 

R pistons will fit a gsr rod and a gsr or itr crank. the p72 rod is probably the best oem b series honda rod. if i remember right there is something done to them in the itr engine. i've seen pics of the usdm R rods with an R on the side but also a jdm itr that has p72 rods when seen from the bottom.
