Si: Can vtec kick in early if you don't have vtec control?

Default Si: Can vtec kick in early if you don't have vtec control?

wel i was wondering in my si it sounds like vtec kicks in at lik 4000-4500 rpm amd it dont have vtec control so im just wondering if i just think im hearing it or there something on it to make it do that

what do you mean you dont have vtec control? stock si wiring harness and stock motor? and stock ecu? then it should work...

ur ecu might have been tampered with at some point (by that i mean adjusted to that rpm) by a previous owner.

it's possible your tach is off, however off by that much i don't know.

Vtec engages at like 6500rpm. Your tach or something is off.

vtec engages at 5800 rpm. what you hear at 4000 rpm is the secondary lobe on the camshaft. its bigger than the primary so it seems louder. then the vtec lobe is the biggest and is set at 5800 rpm on the stock pcm.

Are you still getting a loud crossover at 5700 rpm? Are you sure you have the correct ecu?

what motor. my z6 kicked in at about 4500-4800 on a non chipped p28

mine is @4400 rpm standard?thought my iabs came in @5750. only on <bc4 not b16a2>

well clamped iabs, in open position now <forgot to mention>and comes <on cam> @5750rpm
