I have a high capacity AEM Fuel Rail that came with the fuel pressure regulator. Recently my car was not starting and I diagnosed that something was wrong inside the fuel pressure regulator when I noticed the vacuum hose smelled like gas. I purchased a rebuild kit for the regulator and replaced the diaphragm and orifice and reassembled the regulator. The car started and ran fine for a day but now it won't start again. I must have installed something wrong but my question is why did it start at first if something was installed wrong.

 

Apparently nobody else has problems with this stuff, however if someones does this message is for you. Make sure that you torque it together really tight after you rebuild it and it takes a day of running before the diaphragm seats perfectly to the orifice.

How much was the rebuild kit? And you should do a diy on the process.

 

OP hasn't been on here in 5 years and posted this thread 6 years ago. Pretty sure the rebuild kit price may have changed by now.

Just in case they are less than $50 on amazon.

Lmfao 2010 woow... Them kits like 27 bucks now lol and the office tear every 6 months depending on temps/pressure. Just a FYI for 5 years from now
