d15b1 mini me swap/ who has done it?
i am trying to gather info on this swap and i was wondering if someone that has done this could help me make a checklist of what i need for the swap. im keeping it obd0 for now, due to $ restrictons.
What i have so far:
z6 head, a6 dizzy, hG, intake manifold , ecu.
my question is what timing belt do i need, and would i have to change the sprocket on the crank side or anything like that?

you would follow the same procedure and parts list as any of the d15b blocks. Use a sprocket from a y7 or y8 head, leave your bottom end alone unless you want to rebuild it. Make sure you remove the oil jet on the block. Obviously you should change your timing belt and water pump while your doing this and replace them with the 1.5 belt and pump. Id suggest using arp head studs because you shouldnt reuse your oem studs anyway. I think if you use a y7 or y8 oem head gasket too that will bump up your compression a bit.
You will be much better off switching to obd1 rather than 0 but if your cash is limited, you should run fine but you will need to figure out how you want to control vtec whether its with a vtec controller or just a simple rpm switch.
best of luck, if you want better results id say swap our your piston or your bottom end in the long run to something other than the b1 to hopefully build more power.
Honestly dont expect a whole lot though. You will definitely feel a power difference between the stock b1 and the mini me but its no b16 and you will probably be lucky if you make 120hp at the crank, but it will be a much more spirited daily driver if thats what your going for

i just bent some valves and im just looking for a jump in power and i found a cheap rebuilt head.. ill probaly leve it without vtec for a while until i go obd1. another question i have is what head bolts do i use?
i dont think the a6 dizzy will fit the z6 head i tried a z6 dizzy on a d15b7 and it didnt match up
not sure what bolt to go with but like mentioned above the arp head studs are pretty amazing and they have a variety of choices to choose from i know the d16 set fits the a6 and the z6 block havent messed with the d15 yet

the a6 dizzy fits with a lil modification. u just need to make the top hole of the dizzy a liil bigger. but ill research more on the head studs i need to use

OK so I hope you know what your getting into when you want to do this swap. There is a lot of wire splicing and soldering depinning the ecu adding a injector resistor box.
Some of the items you might need
1. MPFI intake swap (88-91 Civic/CRX Si)
2. MPFI Dizzy (88-91 Civic/CRX Si)
3. Injector Resistor Box Needed for OBD0
4. Injector Plugs (if your Manifold doesn't have them)
5. PM6 Si ECU, PM7, or PG7
6. Extra ECU pins (only for automatics, or if your intake manifold has an FITV)
7. Solder Gun
8. Heat Shrink
9. Heat Gun
10. Extra Wire
11. Pick tools and Needles (Depinning)
This is a pretty good start of a list of materials... There is no easy way to do this. You have to depin your ECU which in itself can be a headache. I'm assuming your car is still OBD0 DPFI. If so it will save you money if you do it all together. I'm pretty sure a6 dizzy runs an a6 head and the same with z6. z6 is OBD1 and will not run on OBD0, a6 is OBD0 and will not run on OBD1. OR should I say "will not run properly".
Any questions I will be happy to try and answer. Again realize what your getting into, I tried to just do a MPFI Swap or my DD and ended up getting a wire swapped somewhere and couldn't find which one it was. So i am still DPFI and it sucks but that was like the first thing i ever tried with my car. Its a lot of wiring but don't let that discourage you. Make sure you have another DD in case something messes up.
Do your research on the subject! SEARCH: DPFI to MPFI to OBD1 at yahoo or google should get some pretty good info. Just let me know if you have any questions.

I'm doin tha same swap except D15b2 with a y8 head.... How can I get tha y8 head 2fit. Over tha d15b2s dowel pins? Everythng else is completed and converted 2 obd1 jus cnt took tha dowel pins out and it leaks pretty bad so how can I get it 2 stop??
All the Specs change from engine to engine car to car... What intake is on the car? What header is on the car? Is it tuned? Is timing set to 16 or 14 or 18 degrees? What type of Fuel are you using and is the head stock? These are some of the things that will effect specs. Just dyno it so you will know.
