what did you do 1st?

Get a good reliable engine,
Exhaust, Intake, Headers for starters,
Then start saving up for Drivetrain and internals for example cams, valve springs etc etc. Don't be wasting your money on fan boy stuff. Get good reliable parts no ebay parts either please for the love of god..
im aware Just bolting it on will give huge heatsoak!!!, but im going to build a cold air feed for it, and build a box around the filter with thero-tec heat reflective sheeting, then it should be giving more power AND be sounding awesome!!
Tuning is the most important piece to any motor build, why not get the ability to tune first?

REEEEESEEAARRCH! Find out which part combinations work well together, for example; you don't run S2 pro series camshafts on a stock valvetrain. Oh yeah, and find a decent tuner who knows exactly what they're doing.
i agree, even a healthy stock engine can see gains from tuning and be more reliable and get better mpg!!
well my build plan was kinda short and simple...
itr headers,cams,2.5 piping with a test pip and with a es tuning muffler, aebs manifold and with a short ram...
what do you guys think?

1st I bought a 98+ B18C-R, Comptech Icebox system, Custom K&N cone filter rather than the comptech foam, and a 2.5" header back exhaust. Also did a new timing belt, water pump, checked the valves, new oil and oil filter, new spark plugs, new cap and rotor... lol. Gotta start on a fresh engine. Then get bored of it and plan to pull it nd go 84mm or so sleeved, 12:1 compression, build the head, forged internals.... haha
