what size socket for removing hub nut
Im taking down my tranny to replace my clutch but before i do that i need to know what size socket im going to need to remove the driveaxle hub nut cause this is my only transportation and I cant make any trips to the auto parts store .Any thing else I should know. thanks
you should drain the fluid and replace it while the transmission is out. the fluid is easier to drain while the tranny is still installed. It should only take like 2.3 quarts. GM synchromesh all the way on fluid. The only reliable product gm makes anymore.
I just drained it out like 6 months ago but im reading the HAYNES and it says you must remove the tranny fluid sorry guys for the noob questions but im barely getting back into it i havent really worked on a car in over 2 years other than basic maintenece stuff

I have broken 4 Craftsman breaker bars, all 1/2" drive. PB blaster, torch, everything and it didn't budge. Thank god for the Lifetime warranty.
I use a 6ft breaker bar. Works good. Or if you think it might not come out then take it to a shop to loosen it up for you and retighten it. Most shops do it for free
I would be too embarrassed to take it to a shop to ask if they could loosen up my axle nuts because I couldn't do it myself.
