but how would it have blown the motor. i had to replace a valve in the head a few weeks back and reused the head gasket and bolt cause i was tight on money at the time. i mean if anything went i would think it was the head gasket or maybe some rings. but the motor only has 30,000 on it so i would not see any sense in the rings going.

Reusing a headgasket was mistake #1. Not giving the motor the proper tune that it needed was mistake #2. Results in a screwed motor.

but what could be wrong would anyone have a good idea? i pulled my plugs and the cylinder i lost was caused by the spark plug covered in oil. when the car is running it is not burning oil but antifreeze. so really my only guess is that it is the gasket. and i am only running 7 pounds of boost and it is getting tuned saturday in denver. i have the gasket now and the studs will be here first thing in the morning. so tomorrow morning i am pulling the head off. is there anything i need to look for to tell me anything?

Only way to find out is to pull the head off. And or do a compression/ leak down test.

THIS.

You should have just waited till you got it tuned with a new head gasket before you went "racing". And seeing you went Street Racing, I can no longer help you, and neither should any one else. Good luck.

No the oil that covered the spark plug was caused by something blown, piston ringlands, rings, cylinder itself, etc, which is the direct result of racing with an untuned engine.

so i pulled the head......it was a piston. you were all correct. i had nitrous on the motor for a couple days and there is a spot near the back of the piston that is rounded off....so depressed. putting new pistons in tomorrow though lets hope for the best. cyl wall looks fine just for the record
