sohc turbo engine durability
I have a 2004 civic ex vtec sohc d17a2 it only has 70000 miles on it. i bought headers, cold air intake, streetlite flywheel, stage 2 cam, tru time adjustable cam gears, iridium spark plugs, toyo radiator, exhaust system, and iam getting a turbo. iam trying to get alot of power out of the car while keeping the engine safe to produce that much power, i would like to get a stroker kit, do they have those for the d17a2, what other parts would be good to get to keep the engine strong and more durable and produce more power. please help.
R U Fn SRS?
Read the faq man.
Also, wtf is a "performance chip"? A no name ebay piece of crap that come with rediculous claims and no evidence or explanation backing it up? Because if you are looking to turbo, Im sure you already know that you are going to need a whole new computer and Hondata KPro, along with a good tune.

i dont know much about cars but iam learning, i cant remember the type of chip i know it cant be usedwith forced induction i just got it for all the stuff i have now to tune it a little better with my mods, i cant afford the turbo yet. but i dont know if i should get a turbo for an sohc is it bad or should i just put it at a lower boost like 6 to 8 psi.
iv decided i want to get a turbo i for my 04 civic ex vtec sohc, to add onto the headers, exhaust system, cold air intake, streetlite flywheel, stage 2 cam, adjustable cam gears, toyo radiator, how much hp do you think iam putting out, how much would i get if i added the turbo?
right now. maybe 135 if your lucky. bolt ons do absolutely jack to these cars
If you go turbo, your into some serious $$$, also forget your headers, you'll need a new exhaust manifold for the turbo, plus countless more parts. Theres a write up in the FAQ, if done right you could see 300hp

i have the headers. if i bought the turbo kit from pro civic wouldnt that have everything i need to set up the turbo it even comes with the plug and play harness, what else eould i need? i feel dumb but is the exhaust manifold the headers? i just relized i need to get the high flow cat conv... so your say i really only gaind about 10 hp with all the parts i have.
yes, if your lucky you got 10hp, unless you swap the engine out for a K series or do a full turbo build your not gonna benefit from bolt on in these d17's.
The turbo needs to get its boost from somewhere and thats from your exhaust, you'll need a turbo exhaust manifold, regular headers wont do it.
The Turbo kit will only include whats needed for the turbo install itself, i dout it will come with the Wideband or FMU which ever your choice, and chances are it doesnt include a new ecu or tune.
