did you clean it by taking it off the IM, or simply spraying something on it while it was still attached to the intake mani? if you took it off the manifold, check and make sure you didnt get your MAP and TPS sensors mixed up since they are the same, visually.

you would only need to re-calibrate it, if you removed it from the throttle body. im assuming you didnt, but the link should help if you did.

when you took off the TB.. did you re-use the old gasket? was it intact or was it cracked up... and if you used a new gasket did you clean the mating surface 150%. if there is any lil piece of gasket left behind it could not sealing correctly and causing your surge. OR another thing could be that whatever you cleaned could have been sucked into the IACV so you should clean that out as well

after doing any deep clean to the intake system you should reset the ecu for the initial start up so it could relearn your desired idle given the new conditions. try these things out and report back.. and shoot us a couple more details on HOW you cleaned the tb to help pin-point your problem a lil easier

Not completely true...if he bumped it good enough it could stand to be calibrated...not likely but if he were holding on to it while scrubbing/spraying or whatnot...dunno if it would be enough to throw a 1500 rpm spike or not
