your thread title and question really aren't related. What do you consider "affordable"? What motor is it a B series or what? Best for what? daily driving? autocross? drag?

Better questions gets you better answers.

What lol 13:1 is not gonna happen on pump gas. And why the stock rods? An those cams aren't enough for that compression

Let me ge this straight;
DD, 86 mm, and 13:1 on BC3s. You have got to be kidding.

86 mm is race engine only bore size.
BCIII are for stock compression motors.

to answer your question you can get a hytech rep. header for around $400 and make some nice power gains.

as far as your setup goes.... good luck. thats not an ideal setup for a "daily driver". that high of compression needs some type of race gas and more agressive cams. You may have some rod bending problems down the road, and when a rod does bend (which it will) i suggest lowering that compression a tad if you want to make the car streetable.

You will need a cam with large primaries to help reduce your dynamic compression. Skunk2 Pro-2's or Pro-3's would be my first pick. Of the cams I've tested, these have been the best performers.

13:1 with Pro-3's is very do-able with 92 octane and careful tuning. I am at close to 12.5:1 on Pro-3's, and I can reach MBT on my ignition advance at peak torque before knock limit. Even high-load low-RPM zones are not an issue. When I broke the motor in using ITR cams, I was knocking a lot in that zone, just too small of a cam.

Hope that helps.

skunk pro series stage 2 cams, hytech replica headers and 2.5 to 3 exhaust, should be fine for a daily driver.
