b18c swapped ek low idle issue/sounds like miss
i have a 98 ek hatch with a b18c swapped. I am currently running a 96-98 ex d16y8 wiring harness jumped down to a chipped basic map p28 ecu
New plugs (.052 gaped) wires cap rotar oil change.
Installation
Installation was done through a shop that half assed everything and gave me the car back with a horrible idle and cels on.
Problem
The car is idling really low almost to the point where it sounds like a miss and feels like it wants to die out or fall on its on face. When i give it gas it will hesitate or bog then the motor will come to life and go straight the rpm range with no problem.
I messed with the dizzy position to see if i could bump the idle up by that and no luck. Next i saw that the throttle cable was pinched and bent so i freed that up and adjusted it so i had some slack but was semi snug like it should be but it gets hung up while idling down and doesnt completely idle down and sticks.
If someone could tell me what to do or check to get this problem taken care of i would appreciate it. thanks.
Video of the car idling and me describing the problem at the end you can really hear the surge. the car was warmed up to operating temp
VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM SO YOU CAN HEAR IT.

like always thankyou for the help you guys give to a rookie like me.

it can b alot of stuff but i had the same problem with my b18.when i washed my engin i got water where the sprk plug is at.i dryed it up then it idle good or maybe the ppl that worked on ur car probly droped or **** up a sprak plug.
after i got it back i actually took the plugs out and put new ones in along with the other stuff. its been a nightmare and i thought i would be safe off giving it to a shop but instead they took my money and let me hang out to dry.
What CEL codes are thrown? Have you checked whether any sensor connectors are swapped?
Have you set the ignition timing to spec?
Have you cleaned the IACV and tried to adjust the idle speed?
Did you bleed the cooling system?

I did not set the ignition timing to spec or clean out the iac valve. Its 1030 at night here and i dont want to be a bad neighbor so 3 hour bus ride for me tomorrow for a 30 minute drive. ughhh
Im gonna get some cleaner from auto zone tomorrow and wire, and clean the iac and wire up those two sensors.
Im guessing the idle speed can be adjusted off the throttle body through the flat head screw?
Also i couldnt get to the clip where i can paper clip jump it due to them wire tucking it behind my dash so i have to take the dash out also tomorrow and jump it and pull the codes and will post them up but i will try to figure out what they are first becuase i dont want to be a huge pain to you guys.
Im gonna do some research tomorrow on how to set the ignition timing cause im not sure how to do that and dont want to mess up anything any worse then it might be
I appreciate the help ron and will do what you said first thing when i get home from work. thankyou for the help sir. will post up my progress tomorrow on how it is.
throttle sticking happens with dirty throttles.
check if your timing is right. make sure your ignition wires are where they are supposed to be plugged in on the distributor.

The CEL codes and disconnected sensor plugs are the place to start. Post pictures of the unplugged sensor connectors and post how many wires each connector has and what color the wires are. And try your best to jump the service connector to pull the codes. After you have the codes jotted down on paper, reset the ECU, drive the car, and then pull the codes again, if the CEL stays on steady. The last step is important because you only want to troubleshoot repeating codes.

i will be cleaning the trottle body out tomorrow and all other cleaning as stated above and fixing the plugs which are not plugged in. also ill be taking pictures of the plugs and colors of them as soon as i get home from work tomorrow just to double check. thankyou for the help fellas and will be posting everything up you guys stated above.
I'll be posting up another video in about 2 hours of what seems like a miss or what the car is doing now. It's alot better now after I did what you guys said but I still have a problem. I am also gonna attempt to pull the codes if I can get to the plug.
bump.
I'm sorry to post on old thread but wondering if you ever got fixed.Iam having same exact problem a as described. sluggish from 1k to 4k then takes off like normal. also have where it will sit as higher rpm like throttle is stuck not sure if its sticking or vscuum holding open. checked timing. also have cel but my dlc isnt working so going to tryy paper clip in servcie connector.
