Default Intake Manifolds

I have a y8 in my car, dunno where/what it came out of and a unknow IM on the car.

My question is, is there a difference in DSeries Manifolds that would cause a massive Vacuum leak?

Common problem. The 99-00 Y8 IM has the fuel injection air system whereas the 96-98 Y8 does not.

There are other differences as well, but the picture shows you that the 99-00 IM has a nipple for an air hose. The 96-98 IM does not.

If the nipple on the top of your y8 IM is plugged, and you still have a massive vacuum leak, depending on your engine, you may have to plug the injector breather holes that are on the face of the manifold. I have a d16y7 with a y8 intake manifold and had to plug those 4 little holes on the manifold in order to get the leaking to stop.

Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but thought I would share.
