I currently have a Garrett t3/t4 57 trim 63 ar on my setup at about 330whp.
I am tuning for 450whp in a couple weeks but was doing some research and I was reading that I'd be maxing out the efficiency of my current turbo at that range of power-
I can get a gt3071r for about 700 bucks, and was wondering if that turbo was a better choice for the goal I'm looking for. I've seen different numbers, some sites say the turbo is good for 450 max, some say 475, some say 550...
The Gt3071R I'm looking at is 84 trim 63 ar, about how much power is the turbo good for?
Here's my setup if it helps -
83mm Benson sleeved B18C1
9:1 CP pistons
Eagle Rods
Benson micropolished and Balanced Crank
Supertech Valvetrain
3 angle valve job
Gsr cams / gears
Victor X manifold
Inline Pro Log turbo Manifold
What would be the better choice of the turbos for 450-500 hp?

Another option would be a Borg Warner S258. It should make ~500-550whp on that setup. Your current 57 trim will be at its upper limit and will be near dangerously inefficient beyond 450whp. I would upgrade to something else...
The 3071R is good for ~450whp near the ragged edge. It wont make that power consistently without running the risk of an early failure. There are other choices that would be better, such as the 3076R and 5557 (~550whp each) 5857 (~620whp) and the S256 (~550whp).
