Can't Keep swaybar endlinks connected!
On my ST rear swaybar, the bolts that go through the endlink and the bracket or the swaybar keep coming undone. has only happened on the drivers side so far. I look and one is apart, redo them both, then the other comes apart. This is really making me mad. This last time it only lasted 2-3 weeks before coming apart again. I didn't want to use loctite on this because I will need to take them apart occasionally to adjust or change endlinks. Any ideas besides checking them every couple of days? I happen to daily drive and autocross this car and it has been out on the track 3 times, although 2 were really just 3 lap autocross format events. As my signature states and avatar shows shell is a 91 Civic Si hatch. Please help!
If there is enough room would threading a second nut over the bolt help? I think I would need to replace the bolts to do this, but there is enough rust on them that I have to this time or next anyway.
I just installed ST bars on my 98 Prelude. Anyways a day after I installed them the rear of the car was making a rattling noise immediately I knew what it was. I looked under the car and of course the right rear bolt connecting the ST bar to the end link had come loose. So I tightened it to Honda spec (40-50 lbs of torque) and well see what happens.
I think that would work great, just try to get that rust off if you put a second bolt on, very important.

You can always buy different endlinks. Not the most cost effieicent way to fix, but you can get better ones. I would try putting thread lock on the ST ones first though and see if that helps.

self-locking nuts and proper torque specs? not to sound rude, but sounds like improper installation. i've had the ST swaybar on my 90 CRX for awhile and have never had the bolts loosen or anything of the sort. try getting some new nuts, use the washers in the correct locations, and you should be fine (don't forget the torque specs).

Same here...My ST bar has been on the rear of my EF Hatch for 9 months now...afte 2 dozen or so autox's, Just checked the torque on everyhting and hadn't moved at all... I used the recommended specs for the nuts (25-28lbs) and used the washers in all the correct places...
But you can double nut them using nyloc nuts and threadlocker, or get really crazy and pin and wire them...Like old chevy valve cover nuts!!!

I hate the ST swaybar, but it is about the only choice for that car.

This last time I used Nyloc on the one that came undone a few times. It stayed on ok, the other one on that endlink came undone this time
All washers are in the right places, torque was correct the first couple of times, this time it was last thing I did that night and I didn't check it so
on me.
