Hey everyone....my car is acting weird...really weird!

I have it running right and it just shuts off....wait 72 hours and fires up....ive checked all the grounds and fuses even changed dizzy and comp....any idea's??

When the engine dies, does the car lose all or some electrical power? My first thought is a bad ignition switch.

 

nope the car will still roll over all day long gets fuel and spark

 

A fuel flooding issue? Check the injectors, maybe change them with some known good ones.

 

If you had fuel and spark, then the engine would start. When the engine won't start, is spark bright white at the plugs? Are the fuel injectors delivering fuel to the cylinders?

 

how would i check if the injectors are shooting fuel?....its weird you would be drivin down the road workin good...and its like sumone turns the key off and it dies....and wont start for another 3 days or so

 

See how wide your plug gap is.

 

Remove the injectors and fuel rail as a unit. Crank the engine to see of the injectors spray. This test is only worthwhile when the engine won't start.

Have you checked spark color when the engine won't start?

Any CEL codes?

 

the spark is a orangey blue ish...havent checked for codes yet....thats tomorrows mission

 

Spark should be bright white. The coil inside the distributor may be bad.
