EGR Cleaning Procedures
that is it, but i can't answer on cleaning it.. i might just use some carb cleaner but nothing to strong because of the rubber diaphram thing inside of it
Clean the EGR valve with carb cleaner, and make sure you get, the hole in the intake manny(EGR vent) were the valve mounts on, it tends to get alot of carbon build-up in there.
Cotton,
My EGR may be blocked off with a metal plate between it and the manifold. If so, I am going to take the plate out tonight. I dont know exactly why it was blocked off on my old engine, but the same EGR may have been transferred from my old engine.
Would that be causing my hesitation problems?
Thanks.
BTW, I am taking my car to another shop in the morning that works on nothing but Honda's in an effort to avoid just putting a bunch of expensive sensors on without knowing exactly what the problem. I am willing to bet that it is a faulty O2 sensor though. It has 170,000 miles on it, but it isnt throwing a code.

some people block it off for performance to prevent it from doing its job which can raise temperatures in the intake manifold..
you make the plate, i used sheet metel from home depot, but some people use red bull cans and such. and the thing i was talking about for you to clean is not the egr, but the vtec solonoid filter, its talked about in the link i pasted on the other post.
