Default Mitsubishi distributor, nissan ignition box B-series engine

I just read in the new honda tuning on page 69 that this guy used the items listed in the title, on his b16. I was wondering if anyone has any experience or know where to find information on this.

because the regular honda distributer is driven off of the camshaft. And the mitsu one isnt.

Was there a problem that I was not aware of, at least one that would warrant the need to bother doing such a conversion? Just seems like a lot of hassle to probably fix something that isnt broken.

cleaner look, and more complicated. If he's using a Mitsu coil pack and a cam angle sensor, he just made his build more complicated than necessary for a "cleaner look". To each their own.

I've heard of VW's being run on Honda distributors, but that is just strange...
