Skunk2 lower tie bar no hardware
Hi I picked up a new s2 tiebar for my ek but came with no hardware. They come with some special washer insert thing for the heim joints that space it out alittle from the subframe would my best bet be to order from s2? Also what's the biggest sway I could run with the tiebar I was gonna go for asr brace but got good deal on s2 bar. Thanks for any info
The S2 tie bar will not reinforce the weak rear subframe on the car. anything over probably 15mm would tear it out. That small of a swaybar would be pointless to install in my opinion. If you absolutely wanted to run the skunk tie bar I would also weld reinforcement plates onto the rear subframe where the swaybar would bolt to.
Your correct, the only thing those types of parts do is add "bling".
They will do noithing to add strength to your subframe.
How big of a rear sway bar are you looking for? im runing 26mm in front and 13mm in the back and it was a great improvement. Im actually looking to go a little bigger in the rear.

I currently run a 25mm front and a 24mm rear bar with 380lb/in front springs and 400lb/in rears and I really don't feel like it is too much on the street. I can stiffen the konis up in the rear and get great rotation at the autocross and keep them loose on the street. I love it.
