Default Question for the tranny guru's out there

How come I can upshift through every gear butter smooth and at low speeds down shift through every gear butter smooth but at higher speeds when you downshift (say from 3rd to 2nd) its alittle harder to get her in gear. This has been happening from when the car was new (before any tranny work) and now after tranny work it STILL happens. What's the deal with that??

forgot to be more specific wit you guys. I'm blipping the throttle when downshifting (everytime, rev matching baby). Of coarse I'm stepping on the clutch (duh) but no double clutching

It takes a sec for the syncros to catch up yo. Only way around it is to double clutch. Just slam it, it'll go. Then it'll give you a reason to split your tranny later

My tranny has been open 3 times in 17k miles. PLEASE god not again

1. to install ATS final, Toda Flywheel, Exedy Clutch
2. Tranny wasn't opened BUT adjust the Exedy Clutch
3. After 1 was botched by F#cking moron had to open and fix her again

and yes I blip enough (I think )

When is the last time you change your fluid? For some reason, with my ATS, my tranny fluid likes to get changed every other oil change. Right around 5k miles it starts getting a little hard to get in gears, not sure why.

Hmm, I just think it is the syncros having to catch up at the higher rpms.

EDIT: Mine is the same, butter at lower rpms, and takes a little extra effort at top rpms (on down shifts, up shifts are fine all around).

right, but i have the same problem.

i double clutch all my downshifts, and the 3-2 downshift is a pita. it just wont go into gear sometimes.

well, im not sure if i downshift all the time (like when heel/toe)...but its second nature to me so i assume so.
