My wiper switch recently busted. Now my wipers go back and forth out of control! I had to take the fuse out in order to stop it (so lets hope it doesn't rain soon). I haven't had much luck finding someone to fix it. One shop quoted me around $350! The wiper motor switch part alone was quoted at $232. I was wondering if this is a job that I can do myself. If so is it like the '96 or '98 civic models? Do I have to take the steering wheel off (in fear that I'll be eating the airbag). Thanks guys!

 

Replacing the switch is quite simple. Try to find a replacement at a junk yard if you want to save money.

 

could you post the "Section 20" mentioned in the diagram posted?????

 

That is to remove the lower cover and easy, look under the steeringwheel and you will see screws, take them out and pull bottom cover off. Then grab the upper cover and pull up and off.
