My d16z6 with about 135,000 miles with i/h/e (stock muffler.. damn cops)..
After I start the car, the engine oil light will stay on for up to 3-4 seconds after running.. I don't remember it ever doing this but I do remember the previous engine doing pretty much the same thing before.. it died
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
oil pump maybe??

 

um is there sufficient oil in the engine??

 

oh yeah lol oil is and has been at a sufficient level

 

lets see if ur using a cheap *** filter will cause a delay, if the OPS is being lazy will cause light to delay, then there is the oil pump going bad could be a problem. there are a number of things, using the incorrect oil will also

 

I'm using Mobil 1 10W-40. I haven't recently changed the oil.. what's OPS?

 

ops = oil pressure sensor

 

To avoid the potential for engine damage, you might want to measure the fuel pressure.
