I drive a 2003 Civic LX Sedan, 5 speed manual, NO mods! BONE STOCK

ok..so about two weeks ago, my Battery light came on the dash when i was driving up a hill in first gear, so i took it to my dad (he is a mechanic at honda with 30 years experiance). We did a test where he hooked something up to my car battery, and i reved up the RPMS to 3 grand and held it there, with my high beams on and AC fully cranked. everything was fine said my dad so he claimed i didnt need an alternator. Then a few days after that it struggled so hard on the way home from the gas station, it shut off 2 times when i was stopping. The first time i was stopped at a light in nuetral, and i didnt notice my car shut off, the 2nd time it wouldnt start in front of the police station, i got it moving, it shut off while going 30 mph and the wheel locked, but i cranked it on, went up a hill in first gear and didnt have trhe power to, so my foot was slammed on the gas, and i was going so slow like 3 mph and my car kept jumping foward, so i pulled onto a side road cause i was holding up traffic, shut off my car, smelt my clutch burning, then turned back on the car, and i made it home completely normal....that was a week and a half ago. Tonight on the way home from work. my car did the same thing, so i brought it to my dad and he tried driving it and it would shut off and the RPMs wouldnt work ands the check engine light would blink on then the car would shut off immedietely. someone help!

 

and my dad said it could be the computer acting up

What codes are being thrown?

 

No codes considering when my dad ran the codes the check engine light wasnt on. so no codes which is wierd

 

If by struggling you mean misfire then Id say check your ignition components, plugs, wires, etc.. my crx did something similar and it ended up being the ignition switch (what you put your key into)

 

in my old civic that happen alot and it ended up being ground cable the goes to the battery wasnt grounded right. i had changed the ignition stuff and still did it and when my dad saw that the ground cable wasnt on the car he put it back on and the car worked great again. so check the ground cable the goes to the battery cause the light came up in my car too and the subs wouldnt work or head unit before that

 

best thing to do is ask you dad to see what codes are being thrown it could be something with your tranny?
