Default Ls w/ b16 pistons..... No power after 6k

Hey guys i just picked up a ls swap with b16 pistons.... its on a basemap right now and running a bit rich. The problem is that when you start to go past 6k it has no power and just goes no where...

my buddy says it valve float from not getting enough air into it... not real sure but i was thinking it bogs hard because its running so rich

NO CEL or any issues with it at all

What ECU are you using? have you done a compression test on it yet?

as far as i know, LS blocks dont give **** for power after about 5600. you actually start to lose power on the curve after that. Try shifting earlier and see how your progression comes. I could not find the thread that talked about it, but it read basically you lose 50Hp by about 6300

It sounds like a mixture of a bunch of stuff. If it has a basemap it should still run decently. It could be the compression is too high for the stock cams and it fighting itself for both air and the correct fuel curve from that basemap. I would look at getting a tune to check out the A/F ratios through the powerband to figure out what is causing the issue. Running a motor that doesnt make power past a certain point will create power loss, but 6k sounds too low for a normal "issue" since the motor was engineered for 6700rpm from the factory....but then again its not a completely factory motor.
If that makes sense

Tune it. And check the ignition and cam timing. Something isn't right. You should get a VTEC head, it will flow more than the LS head will and allow you to make more power.
