I got one plug left on the wiring harness--it is a single red with blue stripe wire prong. I think it is the knock sensor plug. Where is the knock sensor on the d16y8?



I've been researching and see mixed information. But I believe #2 is where it's at. A lot of people say it's at #1. But at #1, I have three d16y8 blocks with this plug--looks like the end is broken off (how could three blocks have this?). So that can't be it. #3 is oil pressure for sure.

Any ideas?

the knock sensor would be number 1 and as far as i know from the d16y8 i just put together it's a two wire connector, not just a 1. In fact im certain i broke one last week and i remember it vividly.

 

number 3 is an oil pressure switch. I had the same pic as u did.

 

Knock sensor goes directly under the second IM runner. Like not a mm under it is the knock sensor thread.

 

Holy crap bro, you're right that connector in between my fingers is the one and i can see a red w/ blue stripe peaking out.

the green connector is the one i broke..on ur pic it looks like yours it missing too.

 

idk why i remember it being two wires but that may have been the number 3 on ur pic. the pressure switch

 

Sirius, it is confirmed. #1 is the knock sensor (single wire). #3 is the oil pressure. #2 is optional tap if you want to do some custom stuff to your motor.

I even took out the #1 piece and it looks similar to this:

 

#2 is for draining the coolant from your engine
