1993 Honda Civic won't crank
Hey, I am new to this site. I have a 1993 Honda Civic. I was coming up a hill, low on gas and it started to skip, figured it wasn't getting gas because one it was low, and two I was coming up a hill. Got it home on fumes. Let it sit for a week. Put gas in it and now it will not crank. It will turn over, and if I leave the starter engaged via leaving the ignition turned, and give it gas, the rpms will shoot up, however, as soon as I let go of the key, everything shuts down. Will not crank as soon as I let off the key. Have I burned my fuel pump out or pumped air into the fuel filter? I know where the fuel filter is, but where is the fuel pump? Can I access the fuel pump? Or do I need to take it in? How can I tell if the fuel pump is still working? Thoughts?

Sounds Like a burnt up fuel pump to me.. like campj said just listen for the pump to prime.you can just roll up your windows and turn the key on but do crank it over and you should hear the fuel pump buzz and then shut off. I try to keep at least a 1/4 tank in there to keep the pump from suckin up any of that gunk in the bottom of the tank. Got my fingers crossed, Good Luck!
