Default removing watermarks

Have a question: What's the best way to remove watermarks on a car? I have a 2001 integra. I was gonna try claybarring the whole car, but someone told me to use very fine steel wool and wax on the windows. Has anyone else heard this? sounds risky.

If the claybar does not work on the body, try some wax and grease remover, you can use 2500 grit to get them out and then compound it and polish it with a buffer. But start with the claybar, and other non abrasives first.

super fine steel wool works great on windows. we use it at the body shop to get accidental overspray off them and polish rust off of chrome. i problydont need to say this but DO NOT use steel wool on the body of the car

polishing compound works good on windows and paint. i have a white EJ1 and the clearcoat is gona and the polish works good to remove dirt stains etc. but theres this stuff my dad bought called granitize hard waterspot remover that you have to dilute, it works wonders, just dont get any on your paint!

buff the paint, if some water marks don't come out wet sand them a little bit with 2000 grit wet sand paper. you will need about three or four progressive compounds and pads for final finish.

if you need to ask this question then i would guess that you haven't done this before, in that case i think you should take it to a shop and explain to them what you want. if you want to learn this try to find someone that has real experience with paint.

i wouldn't want to give you advise that would lead you to burn the paint

would you use polishing compound/granitize + a polishing wheel? or just straight-up hard work?

@jasoncrashtech: yea the paint is fine, it's on the windows.

on the windows? If steel wool didn't kill it then it's not water marks. As was mentioned above, I use steel wool on windows to remove fully cured paint overspray. There's no way it would just leave the water marks.

Post pics if you can, I'm curios to see what the marks actually are.
