Burning oil...want to go turbo soon, what to do?
I have a '95 GS-R, and I want to turbo it next spring. But, alas, I found my car burns a little less than a quart ever 1K miles. That is what I get for running synthetic on a 124K mile engine...
Anyway, I eventually wanted to do a B20VTEC Turbo down the road, but since I have this problem now, should I just get a B20 block and use that to go faster until I can save up again for turbo? With a little preliminary looking around, I found B20 blocks go for about $800 and a VTEC kit is about $70. What else would I need (pistons, rods, etc)? How much whp is usually put down by bolting a GS-R head to a B20 block? Thanks for the help, and I will search for most of the answers, but if you want to save me the time of using this crappy search, that'd be great. Thanks for your time.

EDIT: Almost forgot, about how much is labor and time to do this conversion?

I would take special care in building a B20VTEC (just as I would with an LSVTEC). If they are built correctly, then they will last a long time. Lots of times though, people slack on putting them together, and they are just a ticking timebomb.
I would rather build a B20 block and turbo it without VTEC, You can save money on the VTEC Head, avoid the general headaches assorted with a B20Vtec setup, and then use the money you saved for some headwork, skunk manifold and building up the bottom end for a monster turbo
